Challenges Consulting and Coaching is a virtual team of networked professionals. We know businesses need to be both profitable and flexible enough to grow and change. We also know how difficult it is to achieve and sustain this balance. Our methods help you attain this sustainability.

Our structure enables us to create your consulting team based specifically on your unique business and relationship requirements. There is, however, one constant—owner Margaret Smith.

Margaret Smith brings entrepreneurial energy, attention to implementation follow-through, and a commitment to help clients explore the edge and underbelly of ideas.

Margaret Smith, M.Ed.

Founder, Challenges Consulting and Coaching

Margaret Smith is a coach to CEOs and Senior Executives who have challenging agendas. She has extensive experience in strategy alignment, change implementation, and work and organization design. Margaret is a frequent speaker to professional and business audiences on topics such as Executive Alignment, The People Side of Mergers and Acquisitions, and issues related to Developing and Retaining Intellectual Capital. Margaret holds a Masters Degree in Education and was selected as one of two Canadians to attend the inaugural session of Harvard University’s Managing Global Opportunities Program. With three partners she built a leading and innovative Change Management Consulting firm which was sold to a NASDAQ listed company. In 2000 she founded Challenges Consulting & Coaching, a network of experienced professionals who team with Margaret and her clients.

"Margaret understands business strategy and accordingly develops interventions that will help drive that strategy forward. What I've found to be unique about her is that she's been working with us for several years now and instead of remaining at the front of the room during meetings, she gradually moved to the back of the room and let us [Senior Executive Team] take over."
—Jose Davila, Vice President Global Human Resources, Godiva Chocolatier, Inc.

"Margaret is knowledgeable, sincere, focused on meeting the customer requirements and providing value-added services. I have a lot of respect for her, her knowledge, and the way she builds a relationship with the organization she is supporting. It’s as if she is an extension of the organization, yet separate enough to add value"
